On this page
Conditional logic shows or hides a field depending on the answer to another field. For example, show Company name only when I am contacting you as equals Business.
Add a rule#
- Open the form in the builder and click the field you want to show or hide.
- In Field settings, find Conditional Logic and turn on Enable conditional logic.
- Under Show this field if, choose the Field to check, an Operator and a Value.
- Save the form and test it on the front end.
Operators#
| Operator | Shows the field when the source field… | Needs a value |
|---|---|---|
| equals | matches the value exactly | Yes |
| does not equal | is anything other than the value | Yes |
| contains | includes the value as text | Yes |
| is empty | has no answer | No |
| is not empty | has any answer | No |
| is greater than or equal to | is a number ≥ the value (number fields only) | Yes |
| is less than or equal to | is a number ≤ the value (number fields only) | Yes |
Good to know#
- Each field has one rule.
- Any field in the form can be the source, including fields inside columns. Hidden fields cannot be used as a source.
- Rules are checked in the browser and again on the server when the form is submitted.
- If no other field exists yet, add one first; the panel tells you when there is nothing to use as a source.
