Every submission grows your Mailchimp audience

Map Neural Forms fields to Mailchimp merge tags. Every submission adds a new subscriber to your chosen audience with full field data, tags, and opt-in compliance. No CSV imports, no manual work.

Visual field mapping

Map any form field to any Mailchimp merge tag. The mapping UI shows all available merge tags from your selected audience with type indicators and auto-match suggestions.

Audience selection

Choose which Mailchimp audience (list) receives subscribers from each form. Different forms can push to different audiences — newsletter, product updates, event attendees.

Auto-tagging

Automatically assign Mailchimp tags to new subscribers based on form data. Tag by source page, form name, dropdown selection, or any field value for powerful segmentation.

Double opt-in support

Enable or disable double opt-in per form. When enabled, Mailchimp sends a confirmation email before adding the subscriber — keeping your list clean and GDPR-compliant.

Update existing contacts

If a subscriber already exists in your audience, Neural Forms updates their merge tag data instead of creating a duplicate. Existing tags are preserved — new tags are appended.

Sync status tracking

Every submission shows its Mailchimp sync status in the entry detail view. See if the subscriber was added, updated, or if the sync failed — with error details for debugging.

Connected to Mailchimp in under 2 minutes

No developer needed. No third-party connector. Just your Mailchimp API key and a few clicks.

1

Add your Mailchimp API key

Go to Neural Forms → Settings → Integrations and paste your Mailchimp API key. Neural Forms connects instantly and pulls in your audiences, merge tags, and subscriber groups.

2

Map your form fields

Open any form’s Integration tab, select a Mailchimp audience, and map your form fields to merge tags. Auto-mapping matches fields by label — “Email” maps to EMAIL, “First Name” maps to FNAME automatically.

3

Publish and grow your list

Embed your form using the block editor, shortcode, or Divi 5 module. Every submission adds a subscriber to your Mailchimp audience in real time. View sync status in the entry detail page.

How teams use Neural Forms with Mailchimp

Newsletter signups

Embed a simple email capture form on your blog or homepage. Every submission adds the subscriber to your Mailchimp newsletter audience with name, email, and auto-tags based on the signup page.

Lead magnets and gated content

Build a form that gates a PDF, video, or resource. When users submit, they are added to a dedicated Mailchimp audience tagged with the resource name — enabling targeted follow-up sequences.

Event registration

Create multi-step registration forms that collect attendee info, preferences, and dietary needs. All data syncs to Mailchimp so your event team can send updates, reminders, and post-event surveys.

Product interest surveys

Run a survey asking about product preferences, pricing sensitivity, or feature requests. Tag respondents by interest area so your marketing team can send personalized product launch emails.

Contact forms with list building

Turn your standard contact form into a list builder. Add an opt-in checkbox — when checked, the respondent is added to your Mailchimp audience along with their inquiry details as merge tag data.

Course and webinar signups

Build enrollment forms for online courses or webinars. Subscribers are tagged by course name and enrollment date, enabling automated drip campaigns and reminder sequences in Mailchimp.

Map form fields to Mailchimp merge tags visually

The integration tab shows every Neural Forms field on the left and every Mailchimp merge tag on the right. Auto-mapping matches by label, so most fields connect themselves. Select your audience, enable double opt-in, and save.

  • Auto-maps by label: “Email” to EMAIL, “Phone” to PHONE
  • Supports text, email, phone, dropdown, and number merge tags
  • Select from all audiences in your Mailchimp account
  • Toggle double opt-in per form for GDPR compliance

Mailchimp Tags Segmentation

Auto-tag subscribers based on form data for instant segmentation

Assign Mailchimp tags automatically based on what users submit. Build conditional rules that tag subscribers by plan type, interest, source page, or any field value. Segment your audience from day one without manual work.

  • Conditional tagging rules: IF field equals X, THEN add tag Y
  • Static tags applied to every subscriber from a specific form
  • Dynamic tags from dropdown, radio, or text field values
  • Tags are appended to existing contacts, never overwritten

Common questions about the Mailchimp integration

Log in to Mailchimp, go to Account → Extras → API Keys. Generate a new key or copy an existing one. Paste it in Neural Forms → Settings → Integrations → Mailchimp.

Yes. Each form has its own integration settings. Form A can push to your “Newsletter” audience while Form B pushes to “Product Updates.” Mapping and tags are configured independently per form.

Neural Forms updates their existing merge tag data and appends any new tags. It does not create a duplicate contact. If double opt-in is enabled, existing subscribers are updated without re-triggering confirmation.

Currently, the integration supports audience selection, merge tag mapping, and tag assignment. Interest groups and advanced segmentation can be achieved through Mailchimp tags, which are fully supported.

No. Double opt-in is a per-form toggle. You can enable it for GDPR-regulated audiences and disable it for internal or transactional forms. The setting is controlled entirely from Neural Forms.

Yes. Neural Forms supports multiple integrations per form. A single form submission can push data to Mailchimp, HubSpot, WhatsApp, and Zapier simultaneously. Each integration has its own field mapping.
